I had another closing yesterday. That’s kind of cool in itself — I mean, it proves I’m doing my job successfully, and more importantly another really nice person got another really nice house. I wouldn’t bring it up, though, except I keep thinking of just how positive the actual transaction was. I’ve said it before, but I must really be lucky. I’ve heard other real estate agents describe poor experiences with agents on the other side and real challenges at settlement, but I’ve had nothing but good, smooth, rewarding interactions with every one I’ve been part of.
So here’s a shout out to Rob Whyte of Century 21 at the University. From the very start of the purchase process, he was terrific to work with. Rob was the listing agent. Not only was the listing accurate and thorough, but he was exceptionally quick to respond to all inquiries. He is very communicative and cooperative. He’s also a licensed general contractor, which made addressing repairs and inspection questions amazingly easy.
Also a massive thank you to Kim Schild of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Kim completely surpassed all expectations for me and my client. She made everything extraordinarily smooth, from pre-approval to final approval to even recommending the closing attorney that met my client’s needs. I can not recommend Kim enough, and look forward to working with her again.
The settlement was handled by the law office of Gerard W. McNaught in Cornelius. The paralegals were terrific. The whole team there showed great care for detail and communication was very good.
Of course, the whole thing wouldn’t have been anything at all without my excellent client. With the market so hot right now, the search process took a while and she had to go through some challenges to get the right home, but it did work out for her, as we knew it would. She’s a great person with a good heart. I’m so happy for her to have a place of her own, and incredibly grateful to have been able to help her with that.
Much gratitude also goes to the office team at Helen Adams Realty for all the administrative coordination. They make the work smooth and stress-free. Thank you, Kelly, Mike, and Collyn!
My thanks to all I’ve mentioned. I continue to be grateful and happily surprised at how pleasant each transaction I’ve worked has been. I am a very lucky guy.
